Amboy Hometel is an 11-room accommodation suitable for backpackers as their rates are very reasonable. Their rates starts at 2,200 that includes airport transfers and breakfast.
As I enter the room, it was as cool ambiance as it was a new room with very clean linens and new bathrooms as well. They have hot & cold shower, free soap, clean towels and tissue roll inside their bathroom. Our room has 2 beds, 1 single bed and 1 double bed. This room can accommodate maximum 3 persons. They also have veranda where you can see landscaped garden, the beachfront, the national highway or simply hang out with your travel buddies.
The property has two types of building, the one with veranda and the one is the building type. I would say that the veranda rooms are better as you don't need to walk your way up to your room after the tiring whole day island tours.
On the inner part of the property, they have garden huts where guests can relax or have party at night. Speaking of party, Batanes island has very limited supplies on most necessities and on of it is the alcoholic beverage. You cannot have the unlimited-bottomless beer here. It was our 2nd night when some of my travel buddies decided to have a drinking session, but to their dismay, the restaurant has no beer supply that time as other guests ordered all the beer supply. The restaurant staff cannot provide beer or any alcoholic beverage, but then they asked other restaurants nearby to share their drinks in order to serve us. Luckily the drink came.
At the last night, our host Batanes Wakay thru the owner Jerry and Skyjet thru Ms Dianne, prepared for us a send off party at the Amboys Hometel garden. There were short cultural presentation, lots of food, and a lot of dancing.
Amboys Hometel can be you home in Batanes as the staff here are very polite, kind, helpful and courteous. TWO THUMBS UP!
